Break the hard candies from the bottom. 

The longer you leave the top row in tact, the longer you'll delay releasing bombs onto to the board. 

You'll have most of the board cleared by the time you release a bomb and you'll easily be able to bring down the ingredients. 

As always, look for combos where you can find them and hit the bombs as soon as you're able.

Hints and tips for Candy Crush Level 400

From an anonymous player.

Open up all the frozen candies then make a wrap/stripe combo to remove chocolate in the middle and unfreeze some colour bombs.

You only need to make six more colour bombs.

Open the colour bombs one by one and use one on a colour which has least of on the board to give more opportunities to make another colour bomb.

After every move check the board carefully for potential colour bombs. Make one if possible, then use another to take away a colour.

Try not to make vertical stripes which will explode your colour bombs too early.

Don't switch two colour bombs together! This will eliminate all candies on the board and make it much harder to make the six you need.

As you are using colour bombs try to keep two side by side so when you have enough to you can switch them together to complete the game.

Break the cakes as quickly as you can to open up the board and give you chance to make specials to clear the jelly.

Try to make moves down the sides of the cakes just AFTER a bomb has fallen so the next one will not fall and get stuck down the side where you can't get at it.

The jellies in the "arms" are the hardest to clear, especially the bottom left and right. 

So take every opportunity to clear them, colour bombs are useful and also any combo to take them out.

Introducing Dreamworld! 

A new land in the Candy Crush Saga! 

Available to anyone who has passed level 50 in the original saga, to access Dreamworld simply click on Odus the owl and he will take you into this fascinating new world.

Here's how to play in Dreamworld.

Once in Dreamworld your task is to keep Odus sitting on his perch by balancing the moon underneath.

Each side of the moon Odus sits on is a coloured candy, match too many of one and he will overbalance and fall off and the game is over.

At the same time as keeping Odus on his perch you need to complete the tasks as in the normal game, clear jelly, collect ingredients etc.

As you match candies the moon Odus sits on fills up with yellow, when it is completely full the board will become MOONSTRUCK! 

When this happens two colours will be removed from the board giving you a chance to make big scoring combos for a few moves until Odus flies back to his perch.

The number of moves in the moonstruck phase seems to be random between one and four.

Tips for Level 425 Candy Crush Saga.

Like all of the other 'impossible' levels, just keep plugging away. Yes, a lot of luck is needed in this round but I did find some strategies were helpful and got me through after only a day of attempts:

1.    Concentrate on making a wrapped/striped combo early and at the bottom. That will take out the first lot of bombs and will wipe out the tornadoes for 5 moves.

2.     Keep aiming for your striped/wrapped towards the bottom. Don't be tempted to make speckled, they don't really help.

3.     After the first lot of bombs have been destroyed (point 1), don't worry too much about them, it will just waste moves. They will either be naturally detonated on a tornado will take them out. The tornadoes don't seem to be random which is annoying when they take out a combo set-up but they also seem to target bombs.

4.     Get your wrapped/striped combo first. The 200 blue order seems to look after itself. I was prepared to pay to get rid of remaining blues but it wasn't needed.
5. 3 stars, 5 moves to spare, no boosters. Keep trying, it is possible. I did it in my iPhone.

 I was stuck on this level for days and literally had just gave up on the game as I am not into frustration and annoyance. My husband picked up my ipad and started playing for me to see if he could end my frustration, and started playing a different tactic. Within just a few games he had ten moves left and only one combo left to do, which I was able to make for him and put together, but the game glitches and the stripe pkg combo disappeared when I put them together and did not register. He continued playing and within a few more games, finished the level for me. What he did was totally ignore making combos, but concentrated on using every move possible to destroy the cyclones. He basically made stripes as much as he could to destroy the cyclones. When he did, a lot of pkgs would form on their own and a lot of stripe opportunities, so he put them together when he could. He said he would ignore even a chance to form a pkg if it took away from him destroying a Cyclone.

Candy Crush Saga Level 417 UPDATE

From 12th December 2013 this level has been made much easier on PC and laptop games. 

There are now only THREE cyclones and there is an extra coconut wheel at the top of the right hand side.

there are also fewer layers of cream to clear before you get the fruit moving...

It is still not easy, but much more doable than before. 

At the time of writing the mobile game is still as before but hopefully it will be changed with the next update.

How do I make stripes go the way I want????

Matching 4 sweets in a row gives a 

striped sweet of the same colour.

If you make the four sweet line by
moving a sweet up or down you will get
a vertically striped sweet.  (above)

If you get the four sweet combination by moving a sweet sideways you will get a horizontally striped sweet.

The striped candy will be left in the position of the candy that you moved.

When you match up the striped sweet it will clear a whole line of sweets in the direction of the stripes.

eg:  A vertically striped sweet will clear all sweets up and down from where the 

striped candy is.

If you combine two striped candies of any colour they will clear a horizontal AND vertical line! 
Ie: Up & down AND side to side!
This will occur from the square that you moved the sweet TO, this is important later in the game.

If I move the orange striped sweet to 

the purple striped sweet the vertical 

line will be cleared where the PURPLE 

sweet is. And Vice verse. 

This works the same if the two striped 

sweets are above and below each 

other. Whichever sweet you move TO 

will be the line which is cleared.
